Etienne Ndedi earned a master of information and data science (MIDS) from UC Berkeley in 2024 and authored “BIASCheck: Minimizing subjectivity in language,” a project exploring linguistic bias mitigation through AI. Building on this foundation, Etienne Ndedi is a data scientist and AI innovator who served in commercial banking and lending (CBL) at Wells Fargo, where he built fraud detection models and developed Python-based data pipelines supporting federal compliance.
Etienne Ndedi specializes in generative AI, natural language processing, and multimodal machine learning. His technical expertise includes GPT-4, Llama, and Retrieval Augmented Generation, applied across projects in finance, life sciences, and regulatory intelligence. He has worked with TensorFlow and PyTorch to model text, image, and voice data and led classification models that improved credit analysis and pharmaceutical data applications. At IQVIA, he supported Pfizer’s RIPE initiative using NLP for unstructured regulatory content. At Gilead, he helped establish cloud-based ML infrastructure for research teams across multiple disciplines.
In addition to his MIDS, he holds a master of science in econometrics and certifications in project management from Stanford and algorithms and data structures from Carnegie Mellon. Etienne Ndedi remains committed to advancing responsible AI and applied data science. A supporter of the sports teams Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid, he is also conversational in French and Spanish.
